Architecture, Design, Civil Engineering and Industrial Management Engineering helps students develop into talented individuals with outstanding specialization and practical skills in fields that have close relationships with governments, local communities and human lives, such as human space, urban environments and corporate management. In order to overcome the challenges related to the areas which extensively surround people, such as architecture, design, the maintenance of urban societies, national land formation, environment, disaster prevention, management engineering, and system management, it is important to have the engineering knowledge and ability to allow for the establishment of sustainable societies. To this end, the This Department is composed of the following three fields:

Architecture and Design
We foster professionals who will be concerned with the planning, design and production of things such as the architecture, environment, industrial products, and design which surrounds mankind. Regarding architecture, students will learn about planning, structure, materials, environment, cities, designs and interiors, as well as broad, fundamental knowledge about the design, management, modeling and culture of ‘Things’, ‘Ideas’ and ‘Services’.

Civil and Environmental Engineering
In order to become engineers who will contribute to the development of attractive urban societies, sustainable cities, resilient national land, and community development, students will learn fundamental knowledge and skills for examining the social infrastructures which form the foundation of such areas as logistics and transportation, resources, energy, disaster prevention, environmental conservation, and material circulation, from the perspectives of city and transportation planning, ground analysis, earthquake-resistant structures, construction materials, river and coastal disaster prevention, ecological conservation, and engineering ethics, as well as from global, regional and city-level viewpoints.

Systems Management and Engineering
We develop engineers who have problem solving capabilities in a wide range of fields including electric appliances, automobiles, information industries and financial businesses, and who are able to manage diverse social systems. Students will also learn techniques for solving social activity issues through a variety of special knowledge, containing the essence of the social sciences, such as human engineering, psychology, sociology and business administration.
